My mom came up for a visit this week, and it could not have been better timing. It seems that last Friday the Husbane came home feeling a little sick, and this Sunday confirmed that it was strep. Boo. Even better, Charlie caught it. It breaks my heart to see my teeny little baby hurting! No bueno. So all our big plans of painting and building and going to the movies while we had great (free!) childcare fell by the wayside while my mom and I trade off taking care of our sick little Charlie while the hubs rests up so he can make it through work the next day. I’m just so glad to have the help!

My mom has gotten into jewelry making lately, and found these awesome little frame charms from Hobby Lobby. She surprised me with a necklace and bracelet featuring my fave little family! I love love loooooove them! It’s pretty much the best present ever. Thoughtful, handmade gifts are the best things to receive. So much love goes into them.

There are all kinds of shapes to choose from, like these little circles and the square from my necklace. I love that she personalized it with some green beads too. So pretty. And of course, my canine soulmate. *funny story: the Husbane says he woke up at 4:30am to Rory standing on all fours over him with her nose all up in his face, whining. He swears she was casting voodoo spells on him. Really she just whined until he lifted up the covers so she could dive under them because she was cold. But I so wish I could have seen it!*

Of course little Miss Charlie has to make an appearance on the bracelet too! I guess Juno also makes the cut. We’re not on the best terms. But whatevs. I’m sure she’ll be Charlie’s biggest protector someday!

If you’re interested in making your own easy-peasy picture pendants, you can buy them online (or in stores at HL) here. I’ll have to print out some more pictures and make gifts for my friends with these for the Christmas season!

  1. I love this idea and would love to do this for my bridesmaids. If you don’t mind me asking, where did your Mom find the bracelet and necklace chain?

    1. I think that would be fabulous for your bridesmaids! My mom got the necklace chain from Hobby Lobby, and made the bracelet out of jump rings and beads.
