Last week, the hubs and I made a trip to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore to hunt for more doors, since our last coffee table sold so well. We lucked out and found two awesome old doors that were nearly identical to the one we had before. So we loaded them up in the car, brought them home, and built two new tables!
I finished them in completely different styles. One is red and glossy, the other is white and chippy.
They’re priced at $100 each, and I listed them on the local Facebook garage sale page. The white one is already spoken for, and I’m hoping the red goes soon too! This is my first foray into trying to really build furniture on the side specifically to sell. I plan on using the cash to pay our account back for the cost of buying supplies, then using the rest to purchase supplies to build two new projects, and keep that cycle going. I’m really excited, and completely nervous at the same time. I’m terrified of failure at this for some reason. I think it’s because I love building so much, and I’m afraid it would kill my passion if I fail at making it a side business. So after dragging my feet for over a year, this is my first shot at it. And I’d say it’s pretty good if I sold the first table within 6 hours! Now here they are in all their glory. Red and White. It’s a shame I didn’t pick up that third door so I could round out the collection with a blue!
