Got a Knock Off in Mind? Send It My Way!

It’s no secret that I love a good knock off, especially when making it yourself means making it better than what you could buy! If you’ve got a project or item in mind that you’d like to see a tutorial for, leave a link to it in the comments or email me at brooke@killerbdesigns.com and I’ll take a look. If it’s something I think is possible to build, I’ll give it a try and post a tutorial! Especially products for kids, since it seems like there’s a lack of quality, handmade kid toys out there these days. They’re all cheap plastic. Anyway, give me a shout if you see something online from big name brands that you’d love to knock off, but want the figuring done for you ;) I can’t promise that I can do everything, but I’d like to take a shot at building new stuff!

Hi Brooke! I was actually thinking about emailing you earlier this week about these shelves. I’ve been in love with this wall bar (for lack of a better term) for a loooong time: http://pinterest.com/pin/255931191293789816/
And I very recently came across the source…Pottery Barn (of course): http://www.potterybarn.com/products/holman-entertaining-shelves/?pkey=cwall-organization

I live in a city and don’t have any building experience, but I thought I’d send these your way anyway! All the best from Boston!!

    1. Thank you for the submission! There are actually a lot a plans for these online. Here’s the wine bottle shelf http://ana-white.com/2012/02/wine-rack and the for glass shelf you would skip notching out the front and add wine glass moulding (http://www.amazon.com/Wine-Glass-Molding-Red-Oak/dp/B001DSXF0U) or t-moulding from the hardware store in the flooring section.

Hi! First of all love your blog, and saw your beautiful wedding at Wedding Bee. Well, if you still are willing to make a tutorial, I’ve been looking for a daybed for my little one and fell in love with the Delfina Daybed from Restoration Hardware http://www.rhbabyandchild.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=rhbc_prod261073&categoryId=rhbc_cat206019 . Since me or the hubs don’t have any building experience, will you consider give it a shot and make a plan? Thank you for your time!

    1. Oh my, I hate to disappoint you but curves like that are still out of my skill set. Maybe some day though!
