Freezer paper printing has got to be the easiest method for custom designs out there. Since Charlie destroyed her monthly onesie, I decided to make her a new one using the LOVE design I made for my mom for Mother’s Day. And while I had the Silhouette out, I went ahead and made her a little Hunter’s onesie too just for kicks.
For those of you unfamiliar with the freezer paper method, you can read my step-by-step tutorial here. But really, it’s so easy: 1) Cut your paper, making sure it’s shiny side down. 2) Iron it to fabric. 3) Paint fabric paint onto fabric over your paper. 4) Peel paper off. 5) Iron ink to heat-set it so it doesn’t wash off. That’s it!
I made the designs myself in Illustrator, then opened them in the Silhouette software to trace them for the machine. It really is super easy, and I love that it can make the cuts so tiny and accurate. Right down to the stamped font and flower petals.
Yeah, that girl’s going to have customized clothing/bedding/accessories for life! And now I can bring the coolest gifts to the baby shower. For the realz, this method is legit. It’s quick, easy, & cheap. Doesn’t get any better than that!
