I bet I’m not the only one who loves looking at floorplans. It’s my favorite part of shelter mags! I enjoy seeing how homes are laid out. I know it can get pretty confusing when I post pictures of my rooms, so I snatched an illustration of our floorplan from our appraisal, and added in some walls and furniture. It’s nice to have a visual! So, let’s break it down, starting from the front door:

Entry: looks like an alcove with the corner closet, holds our shutter table

Living Room: the main attraction. Corner fireplace, piano, giant L-shaped couch and our massive door coffee table.

Dining Room: features a door to the side patio, a large window and a nook for our table.

: Has a bar across from the dining area which houses the sink, and an open floorplan for cabinets, appliances and pantry

: You walk through the kitchen to enter the laundry room. It’s great for hidden storage, and my appliance cart!

Man Cave
: One side of the garage was converted into a bedroom, which is now the hubs dedicated mancave. I like to consider his style “Keystone Fabulous”.

Nursery: Moving back through the laundry and kitchen and past the dining room, there’s a short hallway. The door to the nursery is on the left.

Guest Bath
: Attached to the nursery, but with an added entry from the hallway.

Master Bedroom: On the other side of the hallway is the entrance to the master bed and bath.

Master Bathroom: It’s nothing fancy, but everything works. Someday we hope to gut it and renovate it.

So that’s it! Our entire house in a nutshell. It’s quite spacious for the 3 (five if you count our dogs!) of us. I really love this place. It may not be our “forever” home, depending on if we decide to definitely settle in this small town, but it’s perfect for us for at least the next 5 or 10 years. Goodness knows I don’t want to move again! In over 8 years, I’ve never lived longer than 12 months in any given place. I’m tired of being a nomad! Besides, there’s only so many times I can lug hundreds of pounds of books around before I give in and chuck them all!

  1. Love you house and how all the touches are very personal! And I am fiend for a floor plan, I like knowing how a house flows or how a room works in the context of the house. Thanks for showing yours!
