Charlie’s Nursery: Updated

The first time I posted about Charlie’s nursery was before she made an appearance in the world. So some things have changed a little. We’ve adapted to reality. Some things have moved, others have been added. It may not be the most glamorous setup in the world, but for us it’s functional and useful, as well as pretty and bright! I still love Charlie’s room the most in the entire house. It’s just so happy!

A couple of big changes was moving the changing table over by the crib. That was a huge help. Grandma’s tv-turned-bookcase fit perfectly below the gallery ledges. And her heirloom rocker is just as comfortable as we hoped it would be, even after 40+ years of use.

We’re lucky that the room is so large that we can fit a twin size bed in the room as well. That’s where I sleep, since little miss still likes to wake up at least 4 times a night! It just makes that midnight walk a little bit shorter.

All the little details are the same, from her ruler height chart to the paper lanterns that light up dark nights.

And now that Charlie is cruising along, she’s making good use of her toy bucket. She loves pushing the lid off and grabbing all her toys out of it!

I love this room. It’s definitely Charlie’s favorite too. Whenever she starts getting fussy we come in here and she calms down. I think she knows it’s hers.

It just goes to show that blue CAN be a girl color! Teal and lime and a little splash of coral. It would work well for a boy too!

I remember the sneak peaks from when you were pregnant — love the happy colors and that wall paint. But also, is that Ralph Lauren Jardiniere on the grown-up bed? I used to have it on my bed and loved the pattern so much.

Thanks Tara! It’s actually Joel Dewberry’s Deer Valley fabric for FreeSpirit. I chose some coordinating stripes/patterns fabrics for the pillows and reverse side. I’m officially obsessed with it.

I love the color scheme! So bold and beautiful.

And that toy bucket ottoman is awesome.

Just had to say the galvanized bin storage ottoman is GENIUS! Think I may have to do that in our playroom. Just love it!

The bucket is indeed genius. LOVE IT! And also the baby bedding – can anyone tell me where it’s from?

    1. The sheet is from Target, the skirt is handmade from Hobby Lobby fabric, and I made the quilt myself. I think that’s all the bedding!

Hi I was wondering if you had a tutorial or could give me so instructions on how you made the “tub” toy ottoman? THANK YOU in advance
